On March 26, 1898, she was united in marriage to Frank Cohea. This union, which continued for more than 29 years, was blessed with eight children; four sons, Everett and Albert, of near Effingham, Illinois; Russell at home, and Jess of Decatur, Illinois; and four daughters, Mrs. Tresssa Hockman of near Effingham, Illinois; Mrs. Minnie Lilley and Mrs. Clara Bradford of Effingham, Illinois; and Sadie at home.
In infancy Lena Cohea was baptized in the Immanuel Lutheran Church south of Effingham, Illinois and remained in that faith throughout her life, Her illness was of short duration. She was taken to St Anthony Memorial Hospital where she remained a short time. At her request she was taken to her home.
Besides her children, she is survived by one step-son, Orville Cohea of St. Elmo, Illinois; one step-daughter, Lois of Springfield, Illinois; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Nellar of Austin, Minnesota; 24 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death 21 years ago.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 17, 1948, at 2 PM at Johnson Funeral Home, with Rev. H E Zimmerman officiating. Burial was in Rentfro Cemetery.
