Thelma was born to George C. and Della E.(nee Porter) O'Neal in Houston, Texas. She had five siblings, John, Gertrude, George, Fred and Selene.

She married John Phillip Hartman March 1, 1939 in Houston, Texas. They had five children, Patricia Ann, John,Jr., Donald Ray, Brenda Joyce, and Rickey Dale.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, brothers, John of Odessa, Fred, sister, Gertrude (Walker), daughter Patricia (Smith)and son Rickey, all of Houston.

Survived by her loving husband, John, Sr., son John, Jr. (Edith), Donald of Houston and daughter, Brenda Arndt (Don) of Wisconsin. Sister Salene (Junior)Luther and brother George "Sonny" (Ruby) of Conroe. Thirteen grandchildren.

Mom was not only my Mom but also a friend. I could talk about anything with her. She helped me through many trying times. She was always just a phone call away.

Mom suffered from Dementia and although she soon forgot who we were she was always smiling.

She will be forever missed.
