"Funeral services for John Barrett, 88, of Jackson township, were held Sunday afternoon at the Williams Funeral Home in Canfield. Mr. Barrett died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Haefke, West Austintown. Born March 21, 1864, in Hubbard, he was the son of Michael and Angeline Ludwig Barrett, and lived in Jackson township most of his life. A retired farmer, Mr. Barrett was a member of The Old North church in Canfield. His wife, the former Anna Evans, whom he married in 1893, died 10 years ago. Besides his daughter, he leaves two sons, John R. of Ellsworth township and Curtis K. of Jackson township; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Arnold of Sebring and Mrs. Glenn Smoot of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Rev. J. A. Millard of Ambridge, Pa., officiated at the services, and burial was made in the North Jackson cemetery."
