Mrs. John Ohrt, 95, died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Woodlawn Convalescent home of complications incident to advanced age.
She was born in Menomonee Falls, Wis. on Dec. 7, 1862 the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. George Ballheim. On Sept. 22, 1887 she was married to John Ohrt.
They resided on a farm in Bruce township and moved to La Porte City in 1919. They resided in La Porte City until 1951, when her husband's death occurred. Mrs. Ohrt attended the Evangelical United Brethren church in La Porte City.
Surviving are five sons, Louis Ohrt, Rt. 3, Waterloo; Albert Ohrt, Vinton; Herman Ohrt, Vinton; Kuno Ohrt, Denver; and Theodore Ohrt, 1355 Locust St. Twenty-eight grandchildren also survive. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one sister and 7 brothers. The body was taken to the Johansen Funeral Home in La Porte City, where services are pending.
