William Ninian Ferguson was born 12 Oct 1795 in Woller, Northumberland England, UK. He married Alice Agnes McIntosh in Edinburgh Scotland. They had 8 children of which two died in infancy. After Ninian's wife Alice died in 1846, he took 5 of his children to the United States where his eldest son, William Joseph was already living. He settled in Danvers Massachusetts and became a citizen of the United States on 13 Apr 1855 (District Court of the United States in Boston Massachusetts). He was a currier and a leather merchant. He returned to Scotland in 1856 leaving all of his grown children in the United States. He died 6 Sep 1856 and is buried in Old Calton Buriel Grounds where his wife Agnes and his two infant sons were buried.
