HN Borg was killed by a land mine while en route to join a Marine unit in South Vietnam in October 1970. Michael Borg was raised in Tucson and was a graduate of Palo Verde High School in the Class of 1969. A month after graduating, Borg joined the Navy. HN Borg was a corpsman with Headquarters & Service Company of 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines in the 1st Marine Division.

Doc was Killed in Action at Hill 25 in the An Hoa Basin of the Quang Nam Province of the Republic of Vietnam by a command detonated mine. Although officially on the books as assigned to H&S 3/5/1, he died while attached to the 3rd Platoon of Kilo Company 3rd Battalion 5th Marine Regiment 1st Marine Division(Rein.) FMFPac. Also killed in the blast were the Platoon Commander, 1st. Lieutenant Amos Mark Craige USMC and Platoon Sergeant, Staff Sergeant Theodore Texas Rowley USMC.

They are listed at the apex of The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 7 West, almost at the bottom of the panel.

There were 8 other members of the patrol that were Wounded in Action, 6 were permanent members of 3rd Platoon, the Dog Handler who was a member of H&S Company and the K9 that was so severely wounded that he had to be put down.
