Ralph V. Barnett, 85, of Wadsworth, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Saxton, Pa., and resided in Wadsworth for the past 54 years. Mr. Barnett was employed as a stationary engineer at Goodyear, retiring in 1981 with 71/2 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, VFW Post 1089, American Legion Post 170 and the Cribbage and Bridge clubs at the Center for Older Adults. Mr. Barnett was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pauline H.; daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Mike Esterle; grandsons, Keith and Kurt (Jennifer), both of Akron; and brother, Charles of Martinsburg, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. The Rev. Jonathan A. Knight will officiate. Interment: 11 a.m. Monday in Orbisonia, Pa. Visiting hours: 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
