"Frederick Kline, aged 72 years, was instantly killed about 8:00 o'clock Wednesday morning when struck by an east bound Pennsylvania passenger train as he walked along the Alliance Niles & Ashtabula railroad track a mile south of North Jackson. The train was under such speed that the engineer was unable to check it sufficiently to avoid hitting him. Mr. Kline was quite deaf and evidently did not hear the train approaching. His body was taken to Niles on the train and later removed to Lane's funeral home in Mineral Ridge. Mr. Kline was born in Jackson township, August 4, 1868, and there spent his entire life, following farming, highly regarded by all who knew him. For some time he had been in poor health. Surviving him are his wife, Ida Carnes Kline; three children, Mrs. Roy Cramer and Harry Kline of North Jackson, and Mrs. Robert Papke, Youngstown, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Lane funeral home in Mineral Ridge Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock with burial in North Jackson cemetery."
