Loraine Logan Felton died April 11, 2002 at her home in Salt Lake.

She was born Oct 17, 1918 in Chicago, IL to Stuart Logan and Gladys Goodrich. Her father was in the brokerage business with the family firm of Logan and Bryan and she has a close relationship with her grandparents, Frank and Josephine Hancock Logan who were esteemed community leaders and patrons of the Arts in the City.

She attended the University School for Girls in Chicago, Fermata Preparatory School in South Carolina and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Smith College in Northampton, MA.

She married William Robinson Felton in 1941 and they lived in Chicago and subsequently in Atlanta, GA where he served as Vice President of the Coca-Cola Company. In 1949, they purchased the Coca-Cola bottling franchises in Salt Lake City and Provo, UT and moved to Salt Lake in 1950. After his death, she assumed the management of the bottling companies and served in that capacity until the properties were sold in 1978. During this period, she married James Ivers Jr.; they were amicably divorced in 1973.

She is survived by three sons, Stuart Logan Felton, North Fork, ID, Robert MacFarlane Felton, Salt Lake City, Frank Logan Felton, Driggs, ID; daughter, Blair Goodrich Felton, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Phoebe and Shirley, preceded her in death, and a niece, Phoebe, who lived in her family during her growing-up years.

She was an active person and enjoyed skiing, tennis and other sports and she was devoted to the arts, more particularly music and most particularly the opera. She was a patron of the arts in Salt Lake City and a generous contributor to local and national charities. She had a lively sense of humor and enjoyed laughing at life's absurdities. Her laughter will be missed. We love you, Pudge.

At her request, there will be no funeral, but friends of the family may call at her residence April 16, 2002, 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Utah Opera Company.
