Clara Rebecca Shingleton Cox Brohard, wife of (1) William (Willie) Isaac Berkley Cox and (2) Isaac Smith Brohard. She was also the daughter of Albert Shingleton and Elmira McDaniel Shingleton Cotton.

PERITONITIS IS FATAL
TO JARVISVILLE WOMAN

Mrs. Brohard Dies in Local
Hospital; Funeral at Mount Olive

Illness of peritonitis, from which an operation failed to save her, resulted in the death of Mrs. Clara Brohard, aged 41 years, wife of Isaac Brohard, of Jarvisville, at 7:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at a local hospital. The body was taken to her home at Jarvisville Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at Mount Olive, in the Mount Olive Baptist church and interment will be made in the Mount Olive cemetery. The Rev. Paul Brake will officiate.

Mrs. Brohard was a member of the Meadow Valley United Brethren church. She is survived by the following relatives: her husband; a daughter, Hazel C. Brohard, aged 12 years; a son, Howard L. Brohard, aged 9 years; three sisters, Mrs. James Hibbs, of Mannington, Mrs. Estella Hansford, Chillicothe, O., and Mrs. Fred L. Day, Jarvisville; and two brothers, Henry Shingleton, Shamrock, Okla., and Thomas Shingleton, Shinnston.
