Don was at a beer joint three miles east of Arp, TX, when Bonnie & Clyde & a redheaded guy entered the beer joint for a drink. This was a short time before they were killed (side note, Bonnie & Clyde were ambushed and killed 24 May 1934 near Shreveport)
Don built an airplane using a Model "A" motor. He took Alva's dad and flew to Wichita, Kansas (from Covington, Oklahoma).
Don moved back to Covington in "1934" to do carpenter work and lived there until his death in 1994.
