Graveside services for Gertrude Ruby Hill Bigbee of Lubbock will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah with Roy Keith of First Christian Church of Paducah officiating. Services are under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth.

Gertrude Bigbee passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 13 days.

She was born April 3, 1913 in Halleyville, Ala. and was the oldest daughter of Marion C. and Laura Hill. She grew up around Samnorwood near Shamrock. She married Woodrow Bigbee in 1938 in Shamrock. He passed away October 1980.

Gertrude Bigbee was a very professional beautician and manicurist to many well-known women of Lubbock in the '60's, '70's and '80's. She was loved by all who met her. She worked for both Hemphill-Wells beauty salons at Monterey Center and South Plains Mall. Later she worked for Fiesta Beauty Salon in Monterey Center before retiring in the mid '80's.
