James A. "Jake" Flanagan, 90, retired owner of Flanagan's Department Store in Kosciusko, died May 12, 2008 at Atwood Personal Care Home. Visitation is 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at Jordan Funeral Home with services at 3 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. James Salter will officiate.

Burial will be in Parkway Cemetery.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kosciusko and The Gideons International.

He is survived by daughters, Linda Flanagan Walker and her husband, Bill, of Kosciusko, and Susan M. Collins and her husband, Howard of Greenwood; grandchildren, Belinda Beth Sharp and her husband, David, of Meridian, Kimberly Karol Walker of Kosciusko, and Steven Ray McBride of Memphis; great-granddaughter, Sera Beth Pinkard of Meridian; several nieces and nephews and one first cousin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Earl Burkes Flanagan, and his parents, Stephen J. and Katie Lou Bell Flanagan.

Pallbearers are Dr. Henry Jones, Hank Jones, Vic Gressett, Howard Collins, Bill Walker and Steven McBride.
