Funeral Services This Afternon At Coal City and Continued Services at West's Funeral Home

Mrs. Jennie (Denney) Collenbaugh, 91 years old, Coal City's oldest lady and highly respected citizen, died Monday afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. Maggie Duling, at Hartsville, where she had gone for a visit. She suffered a heart attack and died, very suddenly. She was born in Monroe county, February 16, 1851, a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Samuel Denny. She married the late Andrew Collenbaugh and they moved to Coal City about 57 years ago.
She was an active member of the Methodist Church and and was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She took an interest in her home, and many folks in this county and adjoining counties will remember her because of her beautiful flowers. She specialized in dahlias.
She is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Nora Barton of Vincennes, Mrs. Maggie Duling of Hartsville; and one sson, Roy Hamilton, of Coal City. Also two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Short funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon in Coal City, and continued services will be held at 2:30 at West's Funeral Home in Spencer. Interment will be made in Riverside Cemetery.
