Death has removed one more of our old and recognized landmarks in the person of Peter Clapsaddle who died on Sunday aged 89 years.
Mr. C. has lived here more than half a century and in his younger days was a heavy landowner and a live business man.
In his death he leaves four children, William and Daniel Clapsaddle, Mrs. Catherine Steele, of Ilion and Dean Clapsaddle, of Minneapolis, Minn., besides a large circle of friends to mourn his loss.
His funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the residence of his son, William, where he has made his home for several years. Published in the Herkimer Citizen, July 31, 1888
