1931 - 2011 John Everett Adams, 79, of Bolckow, MO, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011, at LaVerna Village in Savannah, MO. Everett was born August 6, 1931 in Logan, IA, the son of Arnold Everett and Mary Aurilee (Jensen) Adams. On May 29, 1964 in St. Joseph, MO, he was married to Carol Dean (Cawley) Middleton. Mr. Adams was a graduate of Bolckow High School and attended Graceland College. He was a farmer, mechanic, and welder. He owned and operated Adams Service and Repair in Guilford, MO, for 17 years, and retired from McCarty Motors. He was an ordained priest in the Community of Christ Church at Guilford, MO, where he was very active in the church. He also helped with the Boy Scouts and was active with Camp Quality for several years. He enjoyed traveling, auctions, flea markets, garage sales, and antiques, and was a picker at heart. He loved people and often helped many friends in a time of need. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carol Adams, of the home.He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Arla Deen Nelson; two grandsons, Jesse Middleton and Jeremy Middleton; and a granddaughter, Autumn Nordin. Mr. Adams has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 1 p.m., at the Community of Christ Church, in Guilford, MO. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. at the church. Inurnment at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bolckow, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Peace Unlimited, www.peaceunlimited.org.
