ELDON V. ROGERS
LAMAR--Eldon V. Rogers, 47, a longtime resident of Lamar, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday in Barton County Memorial Hospital here after a 10-year illness.
Mr. Rogers, a retired railroad employe, was disabled in a job accident ten years ago. A veteran of the Korean War, held a lifetime membership in the La Harpe, Kan., post of the Veterans of Foreighn Wars. He attended Lamar Baptist Church.
Surviving are his father, Virgil, of the home; his stepmother, Mrs. Laura G. Rogers; two brothers, Dean, of Vivian, La., and Donald, of Eldon; five sisters, Mrs. Goldie Myers, of Pontiac, Mich., Mrs Cora Abbott, of Erie, Kan., Mrs. Eva Nora Boyd, of Kansas City; Mrs. Paula Sue Yeager, of Gardner, Kan., and Mrs. Sharon Irwin, Kansas City; three stepsons, Sherrill Powell, of Pittsburg, Kan., Steve Powell, of Noel, and Jim Powell, state of Oklahoma; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jane Woodson, Vinita, Okla., and Mrs. Pat Thompson, Kansas City; two stepbrothers, Lloyd Gilpin, of Lincoln, Nev., and Richard Gilpin, Kansas City; six stepsister, Mrs. Bessie Johnson, of Springville, Neb., Mrs. Doris Banks of Thayer, Mrs Emaline Rotramel, of Wichita, Kans., Mrs. Zona Holder, of Jerico Springs, Mrs. Charlene Igou, Kansas City, and Dorothy Lyle, of Hindsville, Ark.; and eight step-grandchildren.
