Frank S. Whalin, a pioneer resident of Tenino, died yesterday in a Centralia hospital. He was 76 years old and had lived here forty-six years, having been engaged in the lumber business until about six years ago, when he retired.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Whalin is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harold Axtelle of Tacoma, and six stepchildren, Mrs. Thurston Johnson, Ben Tyrell and Harvey Ticknor, all of Tenino; Mrs. Ben Colvin, Ritter, Oregon; Lester Tyrell, Taft California ad Mrs. Herbert Hurr Seattle. Charles Whalin, a brother, resides here. He was a charter member of the Masonic Lodge here.

Family Memory: Frank's older brother Charles A. Whalin was married to Hester Ticknor. My mom thought he spoke a foreign language. He was from Maine.
