He is survived by his wife, Hazel; a daughter, Mrs. Stuart (Mary Louise) Neff; two sons, Donald E. and James F., with whom he was associated in business, and seven grandchildren, David and Thomas Neff, and Nancy, Diane, Patricia, James, Robert, and John Harrold, all of Muncie.
Mr. Harrold was born in Dunreith, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Harrold, on Nov. 7, 1889. He attended the Muncie schools and Muncie Normal Institute before joining the editorial staff of The Star in 1908. He later served as city editor, managing editor and general manager of the newspaper, from which he retired in 1945. He then joined his sons at Lincoln Press.
He was a member of the High Street Methodist Church and a charter member of the Muncie Kiwanis Club. Also he was a member and secretary-treasurer of the Muncie Club and a member of the Delaware Country Club.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Meeks Mortuary with Dr. Harold D. Neal, pastor of High Street Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
