Clair B. Plank, 66, of Orrtanna R. 1, died Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the Gettysburg Hospital where he was a patient the past three days. Born in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Virginia Mae Plank Plank.

He was a member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church; a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and was employed by PennDOT until his retirement in 1980 due to ill health. He was a member of the Cashtown Fire Company and the V.F.W.

He is survived by his wife, Lela Kepner Plank; one son, Robert Plank, of Raleigh, N.C.; four daughters, Vicki Fritz of Mission Hills, Ca.; Sharon Hafer of Dillsburg; Susan Stevens of Dillsburg; and Cody Gilbert of Granite Station Road, Gettysburg; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Kint of New Oxford, and Geraldine Wise of Boiling Spring Lakes, N.C.; two brothers, Cletus Plank and Landon Plank, both of Gettysburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Gary Bumbarger officiating. Interment will be in the Fairfield Union Cemetery.
