Mr. John Ballard, although a great sufferer died very unexpectedly at his home in the west part of town Monday night, and laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery Wednesday. He
leaves a wife and son, also a sister of Omaha and brothers James of near Sidney and I. B. of this place to mourn. He was an old soldier highly esteemed by all who knew him.
