Mr. Clay Quinton Ditmore, age 74, of Canton, OH, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2007. Mr. Ditmore was born Wednesday, November 9, 1932 in Robbinsville, NC to the late Henry Rice Ditmore and the late Gertrude Gribble Ditmore. He was a member of pleasant Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, bowling and golfing. Clay retired after 37 years of service from Republic Storage Systems and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by daughter, Cathy Ditmore, brothers, Jake and Lowell Ditmore.

Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Steven and Debbie Ditmore of Canton, OH; daughter, Susan Knott of Canton, OH; grandson, Matthew Clay Ditmore; granddaughter, Lauren Ditmore; grandson, Evan Knott; longtime loving companion and friend, Nellie Pittman; brothers, Paul Ditmore of Hayesville, NC and Joseph Ditmore of Robbinsville, NC; sisters, Kathleen Cole of Hiawassee, and Betty jean Wheeler of Young Harris; former wife, Betty Bechtel of Canton, OH.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Music was provided by The Macedonians. Interment was in Osborn Cemetery with military honors conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers were: Gary Solesbee, Mike Ditmore, Jack Ditmore, Mark Ditmore, Greg Rogers and Raleigh Wheeler.
