William Arrie "Bill" Hannon,55 of St.Helena Island, S.C., passed away Sunday, May 29,2011 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Billy fought a courageous battle with cancer.
Born November 2,1955, in Rock Hill,S.C.,Billy was a son of Billie A.Hannon of Fort Mill,S.C. and the late Glenn Proctor. He was united in marriage to Berta Kay Bayne on July 8,1980. He graduated from the University of South Carolina and worked for the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control for 22 years.
He is survived by his wife,Kay B.Hannon;one daughter,Kathryn Morgan,"Kalei"Hannon of Fort Mill and one son, Alexander Bert, "Lex" Hannon of Fort Mill. He predeceased by a son, William Bert Hannon. He is also survived by his sisters, Rebecca Hannon Terry (Del) of Fort Mill,S.C. and Margaret Hannon Pomeroy (Jon) of St. Helena Island,S.C. Survivors also include family members,Elizabeth N.Anderson(Richard,Lee and Joshua),K.Christopher Nies,David and Terri Bayne Barnhill, Justin and Brett Barnhill and Beverly J.Bayne. Billy is further survived by his beloved companions and faithful friends,Dixie and Izzy Hannon.
Billy served in Company "B" 2nd Bn 263d Armor South Carolina National Guard in Fort Mill, and a Mason, and a member of Unity Presbyterian Church.
