A veteran of World War I, he retired from the American Greeting Card Co. and was a member of the St. Lukes Catholic Church in Lakewood.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Marjorie (Felter) Abbott; two sons, William of Illinois and MIchael of Lakewood; two daughters, Mrs. Alix Bennett of Toledo and Mary Barker of Bay Village; six grandchildren; and one sister, Marcia Petrie of Shelby.
A mass of the ressurection will be held only for family members at 10 a.m. Friday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. James Steinle officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Memorials may be left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
