T. William Barnes, 60, of Waynesburg R. D. 3 died in his home at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 1985.

He was born June 17, 1925, in Franklin Township, a son of Marie S. Barnes of Waynesburg R. D. 3 and the late Thomas H. Barnes.

His wife, Mary Louise Scandale Barnes, died March 31, 1969.

He lived his entire life in the Waynesburg area.

Mr. Barnes was a 1942 graduate of Waynesburg High School. For 35 years he owned and operated Greene County Frozen Food Lockers.

He was Greene County treasurer from 1968 until 1981. He also was a livestock dealer and processor.

Mr. Barnes served in the European Theater with the U. S. Army during World War II.

He was a member and past commander of VFW Post 4793. He also was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 461, BPOE 757, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Arie 598 and James Farrell American Legion Post 330.

He also was a member of various community groups in Greene County.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Roberta Lynn McCullough of Waynesburg; a son, William Brian Barnes of Waynesburg; a brother, Jack L. Barnes of Waynesburg R. D. 2, and two nieces and two nephews.
