Frances Bloodworth, age 77 of Watha, NC died at home Tuesday December 1, 2009 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Bloodworth was the daughter of the late Arthur Levi and Christine Lowry Mitchell. She was also preceeded in death by her husband Elmore Bloodworth Sr.; sister, Dot McKinney; and brother, Pete Mitchell.

Mrs. Bloodworth is survived by her daughter, Jo B. Lanier and husband Wayne of Burgaw; sons, Elmore Bloodworth Jr. and wife Pam of Wilmington, Danny Bloodworth and wife Judy of Clinton, and Eddie Bloodworth and wife Mary of the home in Willard; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Doris Daniel and husband Mac of Alberta, VA, Betty Lunsford and husband Bill of Rocky Point, and Judy Dawson and husband Bucky also of Alberta, VA; brother, Glenn Mitchell and wife Diane of Greenville, SC.

Funeral services were held at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Chapel Burgaw, NC on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 6:00 PM conducted by the Reverend Lenier Furr. The family received friends at the Funeral Home immediately following the service.

Mrs. Bloodworth was buried next to her husband at Riverview Memorial Park on Friday December 4, 2009 following a brief grave side service officiated by Reverend Tony Fontana.
