Robert L. Anderson, age 42, of Blue River died Friday, September 30, 1983, in the Richland Center Hospital after an illness. He was born February 24, 1941, at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, the son of Robert M. and Laura L. (Brown) Anderson. He was married to Joan McNamara on August 24, 1963, at Rising Sun, Wisconsin. He graduated from the Gays Mills High School in 1959 and the LaCrosse State College in 1963 with a B.S. degree. He was a science teacher and taught at Alma, Wisconsin, from 1963 to 1965 and from 1965 to 1967 at the Blue River High School which joined the Riverdale School System where he actively taught science in the high school. He was a member of the Riverdale Wisconsin, and National Education Associations, he was president of the Blue River Joint Fire District, and a former member of the Blue River Village Board. He is survived by his wife Joan; a daughter, Lauri L.; two sons, Robert B. and Marcus D., all at home; his parents Robert and Laura of Ferryville, Wisconsin; five sisters, Marna Sanford of Manassas, Virginia, Gloria Crary and Mary Firrth both of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, Joceil Georgeson and Vada Fauver both of Blue River; and 25 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 1983, at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverdale High School gym, in Muscoda. Reverend Carson Culver, Reverend Richard Fuller, and Father Lawrence Trainor will all officiate. Burial will be in the Blue River Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Godager Funeral Home in Blue River on Monday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. and at the Riverdale High School Gym on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a scholarship fund in the name of Robert L. Anderson.
