Mrs Ida M. Radke, 79, a longtime resident of the New Market community, died Sunday evening at the Armstrong nursing home in Bedford. She had been in declining health for nearly a year.

Mrs Radke, a widow of Albert Radke, who died 23 years ago, had lived in the New Market-Siam vicinity for 40 years and in New Market for the last seven. Survivors include two sons, Arthur and Ferdinand Radke of New Market.

Services will be held Wednesday, at 1:30 pm at the New Market Baptist church, with the Walker Funeral home in charge. Interment will be in Memory cemetery. CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Dec 8, 1947

Ida Radke, daughter of Ferdinand and Wilmina Wagner, was born in Germany, June 21, 1868. When she was 5 years old, her family came to America and settled in Wisconsin. For a while they lived in South Dakota, then later returned to Wisconsin.

She was married to Albert Radke, Dec 25, 1886 in Tular, SD. To this family three sons were born, Arthur, Ferd and Walter, who died Augut 7, 1946.

Mrs Radke and her family moved to Page and Taylor county about 59 years ago and resided here until the time of her death Dec 7, 1947.

About 30 years ago, she joined the Christian church at Siam. After moving to New Market in 1941, she attended the Christian church there as long as her health permitted.

Her husband preceded her in death at Siam, Dec 4, 1924.

She leaves two sons, Arthur and Ferd of New Market, four grandchildren, four sisters, three brothers and many friends.
