Charles A. Kinney, Jr., age 75, of Crescent, Iowa, entered into rest May 31, 2011, at Mercy Hospital.

He was born in Council Bluffs, on April 2, 1936, to Charles A., Sr. and Ida Smith Kinney. Charles was united in marriage to Shirley Peters on October 2, 1954. He owned and operated JKP Erosion Control for over 24 years.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Connie Agnew.

Survivors include wife, Shirley of 56 years, of Crescent, Iowa; sons, Chuck and wife, Rose, Jeff and wife, Julie, David and wife, Stacie, all of Council Bluffs; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; brother, Jim Kinney and wife, Mary, of Pueblo, Colo.; sister, Peg Smith and husband, Chuck, of Shipshewana, Ind.

Visitation with family Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service Saturday, 12 p.m. (noon), all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials to American Cancer and Audubon Society.
