OBITUARY:
STONE HARBOR-Benjamin A. VanLeer, Sr., 68, of 261 89th St., died Saturday at his home.
A resident of the Avalon and Stone Harbor area 12 years, he formerly lived in Camden. He was born in Bridgeton and was a retired electrical welder for the Philadelphia Navy Yard 37 years.
He is survived by his wife, Grace V.; four sons, Benjamin, Jr., of Philadelphia, Edwin M. and Joseph C., both of Gloucester, and Raymond H., serving with the U.S. Navy in California; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Fiorucci of Avalon and Mrs. Joan Livingston of Stone Harbor; 18 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Carlin of Fulton, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Radzieta Funeral Home, Cape May Court House, with Rev. William St. John Frederick of St. Mary's Episcopal Church of Stone Harbor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Cape May Court House. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening after 7 at the funeral home.

Son of Harry and Rebecca A. (Edwards) Fox VanLeer; brother of Joseph VanLeer and half-brother of Bertha E. (Fox) Carlin and Adam Fox; married to Grace V. Greenwood and with her had the following children: Benjamin A. VanLeer, Jr., Edwin M. VanLeer, Joseph C. VanLeer, Raymond H. VanLeer, Virginia (VanLeer) Fiorucci, and Joan (VanLeer) Livingston.
