She graduated from High School in Wabasso in 1946 and on August 17, 1948 married Clarence Leroy "Jack" Jackson in Wabasso. They moved to Aberdeen shortly after their marriage. Jack died in 2002.
Mary worked with her husband in Clarence Jackson Accounting until they sold the business in 1994. Before that she had been a beautician, a waitress and had worked in the Administration Office at St. Mary's School after her children had graduated. Mary was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and St. Aurilla's Guild at St. Mary and also volunteered for St. Mary's Feed the Hungry program. She enjoyed the Dorothy Mann Birthday Club, her pinochle group, sewing quilts, handmade embroidery, reading biographies, and concerts and plays at the Seattle Men's Chorus, Bishop Center, Driftwood Players and Fifth Avenue Theater.
Mary is survived by two sons and their wives,
Dennis "Denny" Michael and Ruth Jackson,
Thomas "Tom" Vincent and Cathy Jackson all of Aberdeen; three daughters, Linda Susan Jackson of Kenmore, Wash., Patricia "Pat" Ann and husband Ross Tuininga of Yelm, Deanna Lynn Jackson of Hoquiam;
a brother, Lyle McCarty of Minneapolis, Minn.; five grandchildren, Tom, Cassie and Hollie Jackson, Nathan and Seth Tuininga; one great- granddaughter, Lue Kaylynn Jackson.
Mary was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Frank, Vincent and James McCarty.
A private family graveside took place at Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
