He was a builder and contractor for many years. While in Byron Mr. Leonard was an active and faithful worker in the Methodist church and on moving to Rockford maintained his church interests becoming a member of Grace M. E. church. His wife, Belle White Leonard, preceded him in death three months ago. Just last December many friends and relatives had gathered to help Mr. and Mrs. Leonard celebrate their golden wedding.
Four children survive. They are Miss Margaret Leonard of Cleveland, Ohio; J. M. Leonard of Saginaw, Mich.; Mrs. H. A. Conklin and Mrs. Howard Burris, both of Rockford. A daughter, Leola, preceded him in death. Several brothers and sisters also survive, of whom Martin Leonard of Byron is one.
