George and his brother (Enos R. Johnson Jr.; born in 1866) were living with his father after he remarried per the census of 1880. It is therefore assumed that his mother Elizabeth died sometime after her last child was born in June 1870 and before his father remarried in Oct 1879.
George married Florence "Flora" Brock on 2 Mar 1892 in Grant Co., Indiana. They had a daughter they names Bessie Alfreda Johnson.
Flora died about 1895 and George married again on 27 Feb 1896 in Grant Co., Indiana to a Alzina "Allie" (Cochran) Walker.
George married 4 times and is buried by the side of wife #3, Mary S. (Lawson) Johnson whom he married on 14 Jul 1925 in Grant Co., Indiana. His parents and first two wifes are buried side by side in another cemetery.
His 4th and final marriage at the age of 80 was on 12 Jul 1951 in Grant Co., Indiana to Maude May Woods.
George's father, Enos Johnson, won 4 grave site in a lottery and when Enos and Cathern died George inherited the two remaining grave sites. He put these to good use with his first two wifes.
George was buried in Grant Memorial Cemetery in Marion , Indiana because the cemetery held an essay contest when it was first started. He won some plots there because he had the winning essay! Hence, that's where he is buried alongside wife #3!
