Funeral services for George P. Estes, furniture dealer, of 144 Colquitt street, who died in a local hospital at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, were held in the chapel of Hart's mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Monday. The Rev. A. C. Baker officiated and burial was in the Cliett cemetery, Powersville, Ga. Pallbearers were A. H. Lawrence, S. A. Dean, Cliff Williamson, W. J. Patterson, C. E. West and A. E. Hatcher. Mr. Estes was born at Gainesville, Aug. 22, 1870, the son of Martin VanBuren Estes and Mrs. Mary Hackett Estes, and had lived in Macon for about 20 years, coming from Atlanta, where he had resided since youth. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and had operated a furniture store on Broadway for a number of years. Surviving are four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Minor Estes and Mrs. Tom Powersville(sic); a brother-in-law, G. A. Lamar, Powersville; several nieces and nephews.
