Elmer Tracy Golladay, son of Henry and Mary J. Faulke Golladay, was born on a farm south-east of Glen Elder, October 19, 1897 and died April 20, 1968 of a heart attack.
Elmer lived and farmed on that farm until 1955, when he moved to Glen Elder.
He was united in marriage to Sarah B. Reist August 31, 1918 at Beloit, Kansas. To this union three children were born, George, Ella Marie and Richard.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, George, Vantage, Washington, and Richard, Syracuse, Kansas; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd of Beloit.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ella Marie and two brothers, Fred C. and Ralph.
He was a member of the Glen Elder Methodist Church, IOOF Lodge 320 and Rebekah Lodge 352 and Queen City Encampment 40 of Beloit.
Funeral services were in McDonald's Chapel April 24, 2 p.m. with Rev. Harry Barnett officiating. Mrs. Harry Barnett, soloist sang "Beautiful Isle" and "Precious Lord Take My Hand", accompanied by Mrs. Max Porter.
Casket bearers were Robert Golladay, Floyd Golladay, Wesley Golladay, Max Golladay, Elwyn Golladay and Rolland Golland. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Darrell Remus, Mrs. Lee Nicholson
and Mrs. Max O'Harro.
The IOOF Lodge had graveside services in Elmwood cemetery.
Out of town relatives were Mr. and Mrs. George Golladay and family, Vantage, Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Golladay and family, Syracuse; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Golladay, Kent, Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Max Golladay, Ellensburg, Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Glessner, Mansfield Washington.
