KITTY HAWK - Ezekiel Mathias Midgette, 77, of Kitty Hawk, died Nov. 6 in an Elizabeth City hospital.

A native of Kitty Hawk, he was the son of the late Ezekiel Decatur and Betty Toler Midgette and the husband of Lucy Sawyer Midgette of the home.

He was a construction foreman, a member of the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church and the First Flight Lion's Club.

Besides his wife, Mr. Midgette is survived by one daughter, Diane Gretchko of Kitty Hawk; two sons: William "Billy" Midgette and E. Worth Midgette, both of Harbinger; four sisters: Margaret Meekins of Colington, Dorothy Burge of Kitty Hawk, Lora Outz of Charlotte and Flora Smithson of Elizabeth City; four brothers: Alfred Midgette of Elizabeth City, Carl Midgette of Kitty Hawk, Jarvis Midgette of Charlotte and Buck Midgette of Maspas, La.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Twiford's Memorial Chapel in Elizabeth City on November 8 by the Rev. Robert Pitsch. Burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery. Twiford's Memorial Chapel in Elizabeth City is in charge of arrangements.
