Malvenia Grotewiel was born Nov. 13, 1888, and died at her home west of Rhineland March 24, 1926, aged 37 years, 4 months, and 11 days. In June, 1909, she married to Alex Stiers. To this union nine children were born, three dying in infancy. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, four daughters and two sons. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Louis Grotewiel, one sister, Mrs. Mike Dowling, and three brothers, Alfred, Hugo, and Armin Grotewiel. She was a kind and affectionate wife, a loving and devoted mother and will be sadly missed in the home and family circle. Her remains were laid to rest in the Free Methodist Church cemetery (Best Bottom) last Friday mroning. Rev. M. P. Andre conducted the funeral services. A large crowd was present to pay the deceased their last tribute of respect. The Record joins with other friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
