From The Reading Eagle, Saturday, Sept. 25, 1976:
Services for David. D. Adams, Jr., 65, of 225 Tulpehocken Ave., West Reading, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
The Rev. Leroy C. Brumbaugh will officiate in the Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading. Burial will be made in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
Mr. Adams died Friday after collapsing while cutting grass in his backyard.
Born in Emmaus, a son of David D. Adams, Sr., and Katie B. (Hilbert) Adams, he had been employed by the former Textile Machine Works personnel department for 43 years before retiring in 1972.
A member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, he was treasurer of the Valentine Ziegler Men's Bible Class at the church since 1951.
Also a member of the West Reading Fire Co., Lincoln Park Fire Co., Lower Heidelberg Fire Co., Eagles Mountain Home, Travelers' Protection Assn. (TPA), and the Olivet Boys Club.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he was the treasurer of the combined Church Dart League of Berks County since 1955.
An Army veteran of World War II, he is survived by his widow, Anna M. (Fucci) Adams.
Two daughters, Barbara A., wife of Martin A. Cafurello, Wyomissing Hills, and Carol M., wife of Bruce B. Billman, Reiffton, and a son, Ronald, at home.
Also two grandchildren and two sisters, Elsie E., wife of W.H. Brady, Reading, and Clara M. Adams, West Reading.
Also two grandchildren.
