They then traveled by train across England before boarding the S. S. Moravian (Allan Line) in Liverpool, England, where they left April 22, 1880, bound for Canby, Minnesota. Ticket was prepaid in America. Daughter Kristi died at sea May 7, 1880 on the S. S. Moravian just 5 days before their arrival to the Port of Quebec in Canada on May 12, 1880. Records show that they left Singsaas, Norway on April 4, 1880.
