Matilde graduated from Los Angeles City College in 1941 and married the love of her life, Joseph Alvarez, in 1945 before settling in Live Oak, California in 1954 to raise their two children.
Matilde was very active in the community and loved her job working as a school secretary at Bridge Street School in Yuba City until retiring in 1977. Her love for family, farming and flowers kept her busy on the Live Oak ranch she called home for more than 50 years.
Matilde was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Alvarez and her two children Joseph H. Alvarez and Charlotte Alvarez.
