VIRGINIA BEACH - Roger Joseph Oliver, 73, father of local residents, died Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Mr. Oliver was a retired claims adjuster from GEICO Insurance Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
The Washington, D.C., native was a charter member of Willowwood Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, where he served as a deacon and church secretary. He was also a member of Atlantic Masonic Lodge 2 and Scottish Rite Bodies.
Survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Oliver; three sons, including Edwin G. Oliver of Hampton and Barry L. Oliver of Newport News; and two grandchildren.
Visitation from 7 to 8 tonight at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Funeral at 3 p.m. Saturday at Willowwood Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Frank E. Drake. Burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, with Masonic rites at graveside.
Memorials to Willowwood Presbyterian Church Living Memorial Garden Fund or Willowwood Memorial Fund.
