The history surrounding Arthur and Fannie Crim is very interesting. Arthur's background eludes everyone. After marrying Fannie and the birth of their first six children, Arthur decides he wants to go West to "Homestead". Unable to convince Fannie to leave the area, Arthur leaves by himself, leaving Fannie with 6 young children. On a cold rainy night in the fall of 1897, Arthur returns home. Over the next few years 3 more children are born and in 1902 with Fannie expecting yet another child, Arthur decides to leave again, still unable to convince Fannie to leave. The family never saw Arthur again. According to documents which came to light many years later, Arthur died in 1906 and is believed to be buried in Washington State in Kings County. Arthur never saw his youngest child (Milly) or any of his grandchildren. Fannie raised all ten children by herself on the family farm East of Monticello. The farm was later run by her two sons, Leland and Silas.

On Aug. 5, 2015, as results of a through investigation into Arthur Crim, I believe that Arthur Crim, after leaving his family in Iowa in 1901, married Frances (Fannie) Massie Champion in Oklahoma. All indicators, date of birth, place of birth, his travels out west point to this being Fannie Crim's husband in Iowa!!!
