On July 3, 1891, Gould was united in marriage to Adabell Pooler in a ceremony performed by N. F. Carpenter, J.P., and witnessed by Burnt Snyder and Minnie Pooler. Adabell Pooler was born April 10, 1872, in Dunn County, Wisconsin, daughter of Dwight Daniel Pooler and Charlotte J. Baxter. She died in 1950 aged about 78 years and was buried besides the remains of her husband in Evergreen Cemetery, Colfax, Dunn County, Wisconsin. Their known children, both born in Wisconsin, were:

In the 1910 U.S. Census, Gould Heyerdahl was listed as a 42 years old odd job laborer living in a rented house in Colfax Village, Dunn County, Wisconsin. Listed with him was his 38 years old wife Ada B. Heyerdahl and their two children, 18 years old Lula V. Heyerdahl and 14 years old Garfield H. Heyerdahl. They had been married 18 years and were the parents of 2 children, both living.
