Barbra/Barbara Hoover Abbott was the daughter of Frederick & Catherine Brumbaugh Hoover. She married Abraham Abbott in 1835 in Bedford, PA., it was here where their first two daughters were born, Catherine and Margaret. By 1840, they had migrated to Liberty Twp., Henry Co., IN. The family relocated to Howard Co., Union Twp. in 1860, near Jerome, where Abram was a miller with their children: Margaret (19), Sarah (17), Samuel (15), Elizabeth (10), Mary (7), Susannah (4) and Rachel (2). By 1870 Barbara and her children returned to Indiana, Liberty Twp., Henry Co., IN, with children: Susan (15) and Rachel (13). Barbara and Abraham had eight children: Catherine, Margaret, Sarah, Samuel, Elizabeth, Mary, Susan Ann and Rachel. In an obituary of Abraham's daughter, Rachel, it states that her father died in Missouri.
