Chief of Police Curtis Allison telegraphed the sheriff of Miles City, Custer County,
Montana, this morning to arrest and hold Charles F. Anderson, owner and believed to be
the driver of the Ford automobile that ran down and killed Ellis barker at the
intersection of the Riverdale road and Grant Avenue last Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock.
Chief Allison sent the telegram after he had received a reply from his wire to I.V.
Walston, chief of detectives of Kansas City, Mo., to the effect that Anderson had left
there on June 8 in a Ford automobile accompanied by his wife to visit relatives at Miles
City, Montana.
Funeral services for Ellis Barker were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First
ward chapel with Bishop D. H. Ensign officiating. The speakers were J. Van Kampen,
Bishop M. L. Jones, Horace E. Garner and Bishop Ensign.
Interment was in the city cemetery. The grave was dedicated by Andrew Wilson. Boy and
girl friends of the Barker boy acted as flower and pallbearers.
Ellis Barker was the son of George Frank and Eva Shaw Barker. He is survived by his
parents and the following brother and sisters: William Barker, Lester Barker, Glen
Barker, Wallace Barker, Robert Barker, Alta Barker Monson, Stella Barker and June Barker.
