Services Today For Josie Miller, 79 Funeral services for Josie Miller, 79, of rural Ava, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Clinkingbeard Chapel in Ava with the Revs. Tom Johnson and Woody Coonce officiating. Burial will be in Dobbs Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Route 5, Ava, Mrs. Miller died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, where she had been a patient for 10 days. She was born Sept. 15, 1899, in Douglas County, the daughter of Bill and Caroline Heatherly Hatfield. She married Bernie Miller in 1920 at Vera Cruz. Surviving are four sons, Russell Burrell and Joe, both of Ava, Johnny E., San Burno, Calif., and Tommy of Mansfield; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Turner, Ava, and Mrs. Betty Jean Scott, San Francisco; a brother, Carl Hatfield, Ava; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. An infant daughter, three sisters and one brother are deceased.
