Moberly Monitor-Index, Moberly, Randolph, Missouri, Friday, September 26, 1930, page 1. Magruders Pass 50th Anniversary. Higbee Couple Observe Golden Wedding at Their Home Today.

The Rev. and Mrs. Notley Magruder of Higbee observed their Golden Wedding Anniversary at their home there today with an informal reception from 2 o'clock to 9 o'clock, p.m. They were married Sept. 26, 1880.

Mr. Magruder is the son of Dennis and Mara Magdalene Magruder and was born near Howard Mills precinct in Burton Township in Howard County on Feb. 17, 1856, the seventh child in the family.

He was united with the Sharon Baptist Church in August of 1883, and was ordained as a minister by that Church on May 13, 1894. He accepted the pastorate there for one year, the only one he has ever accepted. Since that time he has preached in out of the the way places, and has done an heroic missionary work. He spent sixteen yeas in one community, receiving as remuneration for his work one quilt and $6.40 in money.
