DELTA - Laurel A. Clingaman, 97, formerly of Wauseon, died early Friday morning, July 7, 2000, at Our Country Home near Delta, where he had resided since December of 1999.
Born Dec. 2, 1902, near Archbold, he was the son of Leona (Rebeau) and Solomon Rogers Clingaman. He married Blanche Turney on Feb. 28, 1925, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 1996. A retired farmer and lifetime area resident, he was a member of the West Franklin Church of Christ.
Surviving are a son, Robert (and wife, Nancy) Clingaman of Delta; a daughter, Mrs. Gale (Carol) Burkholder of Fayette; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a sister, Evangeline Barnhart of Churubusco, Ind.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence; and a sister, Minnie Brown.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. on Saturday.
Services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Archbold with Minister Larry Snow officiating. Interment will follow in the Tedrow Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the West Franklin Church of Christ, or the donor's favorite charity.
