In Loving Memory of
TERRY JOHNISEE on His Birthday
09/10/1947 - 06/06/2011
Love, Vali, Tara, Dana and Alane

It's '68 the battles been fought
All the rules broken that I was taught
Carried off the plane to see eyes of hate
Trying to make sense, when I know it's too late
No cheers and no parade, you see
No "Welcome Home", today for me

It's '78 the pain remains
A wife and child have made me tame
The job is hard with one good arm
But hard work keeps me out of harm
No cheers and no parade, you see
No "Welcome Home", today for me

It's 2008, and another fight is fought,
Those coming home are met with lights
Parades and joy, speeches and rights
Thank God for those who defend overseas
So you and I can remain always free
I pray they soon forget those vivid memories

I'm aged and gray, Agent O is here to stay,
A cane now tries to set the score,
I know I've lived a good life...and more
I wear my hat with ribbons and pins
And walk with pride of what has been
No cheers and parade, you see
A "Welcome Home", no worry for me

It's 2011, 20 more years is all I need
To live and love and ride my Harley
I want to watch my Alane wed,
It helps me withstand the pain and bed
But this is not the plan for me
A Flag, a Tear, a Sad Parade, you see
and a "Welcome Home" from God,...finally.

.........Love Always, Vali..........
