ALBANY - Mrs. Rhydonia "Rhy" Bland Allen, 85 of Albany died June 30, 2009 at Phoebe Worth in Sylvester, GA.

Funeral services will be Friday 2 PM at Kimbrell-Stern. Rev. Ken Chancellor officiating. Entombment will follow in Crown Hill Mausoleum.

A native of Cordele, GA Mrs. Allen has lived in Albany over 50 years where she was a member of First Baptist Church and was owner and operator of Allen Realty Company, specializing in HUD homes, enabling families to purchase homes they might otherwise not have been able to purchase. Prior to her owning her company, Mrs. Allen worked for Century 21 and Albany Realty Company. She was a member of Albany Board of Realtors and the NAR.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Allen and her son, Joe Allen.

Survivors include her sons, John E. Allen and his wife Anne, Bob Allen and his wife Cheryl, and Bill Allen and his wife Pam; daughter, Mary Ann (Sandy) Caldbeck and her husband Bill; eight grandchildren, John, Anthony, Geoffrey, Christa Estes and her husband Lee, Candace Allen Olney and her husband Jason, Ansley Murphy, Austin Odom and Becky Caldbeck Parker and her husband Tom; four great-grandchildren, Paris and Milan Olney, Madison Estes and Simone Allen; sister, Ann Bland Bonser; and a number of nieces and nephews.
